Counselling & Psychotherapy

Welcome to my website. I do hope that you find something of interest to you. If you have any queries please do not hesitate to contact me with your questions.

I am a fully qualified counsellor and psychotherapist based just outside Enfield, Co. Meath. I am fully insured and I practice within the ethical code of The Irish Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy.

We all, each and every one of us, have our own unique individuality. No two people are ever the same. That is why I offer a tailored approach to each client to match their needs / issues and uniqueness as a person. This is designed in full collaboration with the client.

For example a client might like Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) to deal with their low mood/depression, but another client might prefer Cognitive Behavioural Therapy integrated with a creative medium such as figurines / sandtray to deal with their anxiety / panic issues.

I offer my clients a healing and supportive space. My counselling room is situated in a natural garden with shrubs, trees and flowers. Sometimes small creatures, depending on the season, use the garden. I have been lucky enough in my career to witness great healing and wonderful positive change in my clients.

I am confident that I will see the same change in you. I am a firm believer in the transformative power of counselling to assist people to heal, grow and develop and go on to have a better quality of life for themselves.

Issues I Work With

I have years of experience working with the following issues:

Bereavement

The loss of a loved one (including miscarriage), a dearly beloved pet, onset of chronic illness, job loss, financial loss, can bring on a sense of loss / grief.

If you wish, we can work together to move you through very deep / difficult emotions and all other aspects that accompany your deep sense of loss / grief / sadness, so that you can regain a sense of balance in your life.

Relationships

This can be between couples, family, friends or work colleagues. Understanding the relationships in your life can be a major part of the healing process.

We may work on your communication skills if you want this. There may be further underlying issues you wish to explore.

Low Self Esteem / Confidence

We can work jointly together to look at your negative self image, and low confidence issues.

These issues may go back as far as early childhood / schooldays.

Depression / Low Mood

We can work together to understand your depression / low mood.

Exploring the underlying emotions, you can learn coping skills and build resources.

Working with anxiety may be part of this process.

Testimonials

I attended Mary since September 2019 with severe anxiety panic and low mood. I was extremely reluctant to attend at first, but Mary put me at ease and I actually began to look forward to my sessions with her at such a difficult time in my life.

Therapy helped me to achieve balance and regulate my emotions.

I would not hesitate to return to Mary in the future, if I am ever in need of counselling again.
